The main Christmas tree is installed in Windsor Castle
Until January 1, everyone can visit Windsor Castle to enjoy performances by local choirs and admire the festive trees.
The castle's main Christmas tree impresses with more than 2000 lights, luxurious ribbons of velvet and satin, and a star proudly shining on its top in honor of the 675th anniversary of the Order of the Garter.
There are 8 Christmas trees in Windsor Castle. The Christmas tree in the Crimson Drawing Room, decorated in shades of pink, burgundy, purple and white with angel figures, deserves special attention. The room, which was once King George IV's private apartment, now serves as a venue for official royal events.
In the Waterloo Room, where a large dining table is set up, there is a small Christmas tree, next to the porcelain used during the Garter Ceremony.
The main staircase of the castle is decorated with festive décor reflecting the coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla, which took place in May this year.
The tradition of installing Christmas trees at Windsor Castle dates back to the time of Queen Victoria (1837-1901).
