Usyk vs. Fury: bookmakers have determined the favorite of the rematch
On December 21, 2024, Ukrainian WBA, WBO, WBC and IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk will fight a rematch with British Tyson Fury.
The fight will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. All titles held by the Ukrainian boxer will be at stake.
Unlike the first fight, in which Usyk defeated Fury by split decision, this time the title of absolute world champion will not be at stake. Earlier, Alexander gave up the IBF title.
The new owner of this belt is the Briton Daniel Dubois, who defeated Croatian Filip Hrgovic early.
In the fight between Dubois and Hrgovic, the temporary IBF heavyweight title was at stake, but after Usyk voluntarily vacated the belt, Daniel was promoted to full champion.
He made his first defense of the IBF title in a fight against his compatriot Anthony Joshua, knocking him out on September 21 at Wembley Arena in London. Meanwhile, bookmakers are already accepting bets on the second fight between Usyk and Fury.
Bookmakers' predictions for the Usyk vs. Fury rematch
According to bookmakers, the Ukrainian is the clear favorite of the fight.
You can bet on Usyk's victory at odds of 1.54. Fury's win is at 2.50.
A draw, as the least likely outcome in boxing, is estimated at 16.00.
The bookmakers consider Usyk's victory on points to be the most likely outcome of the fight - 2.25. Oleksandr's triumph by knockout is at 4.50.
The early victory of the "Gypsy King" is estimated at odds of 4.10. The success of the Briton by judge's decision is 6.50.
Usyk vs. Fury: results of the first fight
On the night of May 19, 2024, Usyk defeated Fury by split decision (115-112, 114-113, 113-114) in the main fight of the boxing show in Riyadh. At the end of the ninth round, Oleksandr knocked his opponent down.
Thus, Oleksandr defended the WBO, WBA, IBO and IBF belts and took the WBC title away from the "Gypsy King". Usyk became the first absolute world champion in the super-heavyweight division in the 21st century.
Prior to that, the last "absolute" in heavyweight was Lennox Lewis, who gained this status in 1999 when he defeated Evander Holyfield. Back then, the WBA, WBC and IBF titles were at stake. The WBO belt was recognized as equivalent in 2007, so Usyk became the first ever "absolute" in the heavyweight division with four major titles.
