Preferred Qualifications:
- Although not required, the following qualifications and experience would be helpful to have:
- 3+ years of experience managing a team
- Skills in conflict resolution or mediation.
- Basic understanding of union represented workgroups and contracts.
- 3+ years of project management experience working with multiple stakeholders
- Using technology to monitor and report on program operations, including use of applications like Excel, Word, SharePoint, Trackit, OneNote, etc.
- Writing and delivering reports on program performance, findings, and recommendations.
- Facilitating and presenting to large groups of community members.
- 2+ years of experience working in local government or in a position of public service.
- Knowledge of the structure and processes of local government and able to explain structure and process to community members.
- Knowledge of community safety issues at the city, state, or federal government levels.
- Familiarity with Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design practices.
- Experience engaging with historically underserved populations to achieve more equitable outcomes in programs.
- Working with black, indigenous, people of color and/or immigrant and refugee community members.
- Working on community safety projects or initiatives that serve the most vulnerable communities.
- Ability to speak with fluency in one or more languages in addition to English. Spanish, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Russian, Ukrainian, Somali, French (West African), Swahili, Arabic, Romanian, Nepali, Chuukese, Lao, Tagalog, Cambodian, Japanese, Korean, Karen, Marshallese, Thai, Amharic, Burmese, Tigrinya, Farsi.
