Liturgy for Ukraine held in Denmark with participation of King Frederik X
A liturgy in support of Ukraine was organized in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, with the participation of King Frederik X.
Iryna Tselyk, Ukrainian film director and screenwriter, and Kateryna Kalytko, Ukrainian poet, were among those present at the event. They were in Copenhagen at the invitation of the Ukrainian House in Denmark, along with other Ukrainian poets including Iya Kiva, Halyna Kruk, Iryna Tselyk, Iryna Shuvalova and Oleksandr Mykhed, where texts were read in both Ukrainian and Danish.
The Danish version was read by emil hilton saggau, secretary general of the danish council of churches.
The liturgy was held in the church of holmen. at it, the Ukrainian poet Kateryna Kalytko read her poem "prayer", which included the lines: "Let the people in white overalls come... Let the international prosecutor's office come..."
The liturgy featured pieces by Yevhen Stankovych and Mykola Lysenko, as well as speeches by representatives of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, the UGCC, and Bishop Peter Birk, chairman of the Council of Danish Churches, whose speech particularly moved the Ukrainian audience.
Tsilyk also noted that the event was full of emotions and frankness of the participants.
Natalia Popovych, co-founder of the Ukrainian House in Denmark, spoke about the importance of the cultural front and Denmark's assistance to Ukraine in the war against Russian aggression, including artillery and support in the field of culture.
