The United States has already provided over $66 billion in aid to Ukraine
The United States has provided over $66 billion in aid to Ukraine, including $43.1 billion in military support, $20.5 billion in economic support, and another $2.6 billion in humanitarian projects.
This is reported by The Washington Post.
The publication notes that the financial support provided to Ukraine by the United States exceeds the assistance provided to other allies, such as Israel, Jordan, and Egypt. For comparison, the Marshall Plan after World War II allocated about $150 billion over three years, if recalculated for inflation.
American aid to Ukraine exceeds the value of such iconic projects and companies as Twitter (estimated at $44 billion), the James Webb Space Telescope ($10 billion), and the Biden administration's student loan program ($39 billion).
Recently, on July 25, a new $400 million package of military aid to Ukraine was announced by the United States. This package includes additional weapons and equipment, including:
- Ammunition for Patriot, NASAMS and HIMARS systems;
- 32 Stryker armored personnel carriers;
- Anti-tank missiles such as TOW and Javelin;
- Hornet unmanned aerial systems;
- Hydra-70 missiles;
- Mortars of various calibers;
- More than 28 million rounds of ammunition for small arms;
- Night vision devices, thermal imagers and other equipment.
This is only a part of the wide range of equipment and ammunition included in the aid package.
