Toto Coutugno died
The famous Italian singer Toto Cutugno has passed away at the age of 80. this information was reported by ansa agency with reference to his manager Danilo Mancuso.
Mr. Mancuso said that "the singer's condition had been deteriorating in recent months due to a long illness."
Toto Cutugno passed away around 16:00 at the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan. This corresponds to 17:00 Kyiv time. He was hospitalized there.
Toto Cutugno's real name is Salvatore Cutugno. He became popular in the 1970s when Joe Dassin began to perform his compositions. Cutugno's repertoire includes such well-known songs as "Et si tu n'existais pas", "Salut" and "L'Été indien". His works have also been performed by celebrities such as Adriano Celentano, Mireille Mathieu and Dalida.
In 1980, he won the San Remo Festival and later often took high places there. Due to the festival's broadcasts, Cutugno became very popular. Among his super hits are the songs "L'italiano" and "Serenata".
