The main mobile carriers in Canada are Rogers, Bells and Telus. Note, that they have subsidiaries — Fido, Solo and Kodoo. These companies are national and operate across Canada. The Wind brand from the Globalive company also operates on the Canadian market, but this carrier is significantly inferior in terms of communication quality.

You can buy the SIM card in any shop, large shopping center, gas station, or in PC Mobile and Petro-Canada Mobility stores. They resell carriers’ services in a form of convenient prepaid plans. But if you buy a SIM card from these services, you sign a contract for two years of using the plan. This also has its advantages: you can get modern phones at a big discount from the service.
It is important to know that the SIM card remains linked to you. Therefore, if you switch to another mobile carrier, you will have to give up this number if you do not need it.

Mobile Internet
Interestingly, the price for mobile internet in Canada may shock some Ukrainians. The most profitable tariff plans for people who mainly use the internet, not calls, are:

• Telus 80 plan ($20), which gives you access to 20GB per month. This is more than enough for the average user. But you will have to pay extra as soon as you exceed the tariff.
• The Freedom company offers 17GB plan for $50 per month. However, this plan is suitable for those living in urban areas such as Southern Ontario, British Columbia, etc.

Before deciding on the tariff plan that suits you the most, it is recommended to determine the average monthly internet consumption and than make the best choice.
