Experience the sincere Ukrainian hospitality and culinary traditions in the heart of Düsseldorf!
Natalia Leshchenko is an example of a Ukrainian entrepreneur who did not give up in the face of difficulties and made her dream come true by opening a restaurant, Sсhu Sсhu, in Düsseldorf.
Having moved to Germany from Poltava, Natalia first helped her family with adaptation. Later, on the advice of her husband and sons, she decided to start her own business, as the Leshchenko family has over 20 years of experience in the restaurant business.
Initially, Natalia planned to buy a franchise of a well-known Ukrainian restaurant chain, but she ran into difficulties. The budget was not enough, and landlords did not want to cooperate because of her temporary residence permit. Everything changed when Natalia accidentally found an ad for a cozy space in the center of Düsseldorf. It was a former guesthouse with a restaurant on the ground floor, which was once called Sсhu Sсhu in honor of the owner's daughter.
The process of opening the restaurant took only two months. Natalia invested €35 thousand and kept the original name Sсhu Sсhu, as it symbolizes comfort and hospitality.
The menu of Sсhu Sсhu is international, including appetizers, salads, meat and fish dishes, and desserts. The highlight is traditional Ukrainian dishes such as borsch, dumplings, stuffed cabbage, cheesecakes, and honey cake.
At first, Natalia was looking for staff in Germany, but later she posted an ad on a Ukrainian website. She was able to find talented chefs from Ukraine who are now working at Sсhu Sсhu.
It is not just a restaurant, it is a place where Ukrainians can feel at home. The cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious dishes and sincere Ukrainian hospitality make Sсhu Sсhu a favorite place for Ukrainians and residents of Düsseldorf.
Natalia Leshchenko's opening of her own restaurant business is a great example of how perseverance, self-belief and support from loved ones can make your dreams come true, even when you are far from home.
