According to preliminary estimates, Hurricane Milton caused $50 billion in damage - Biden

Biden's direct speech: “According to experts, from Hurricane Milton alone - and these are just the first estimates - the damage may be more, it may be less, but it was estimated to be about $50 billion.”
Details: Biden noted that the hurricane left more than 3 million people without power, but thanks to the “dedicated work” of 50,000 power workers from 43 US states and Canada, power was restored to 1 million people.
Biden's direct speech: “And another important task is to clear the rubble. FEMA (the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency), the Corps of Engineers, and the Florida National Guard are now on the ground helping the state clear debris to reopen roads and critical ports.”
Details: Biden also noted that the US Coast Guard is working to reopen the Port of Tampa, which delivers large quantities of fuel and other goods, playing an important role in the region's economy.
Biden's direct speech: “I want to thank again our brave rescuers, power engineers, state and local officials, neighbors helping neighbors, and so many others.”
To recap: Researchers attribute the power of Hurricane Milton, which claimed 17 lives in Florida (USA), to the effects of climate change caused by human activity.
