S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl review.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is released today, and it is without exaggeration the most anticipated and important Ukrainian release of the decade. The sequel to the legendary shooter was announced by GSC Game World back in 2010, and in recent weeks the game has become a real social media star and has taken the top spot in sales on Steam. "The Heart of Chernobyl left behind not only premium products but also shareware games and even Steam Deck.
I managed to spend more than thirty hours in the Zone before the release. During this time, I managed to run away from mutants, shoot a bunch of bandits, listen to a dozen jokes around the campfire, and feel the spirit of stalkerism. Here I'll tell you how the game turned out and why it will drag millions of users into the depths of radiation chaos.
It all starts with an unknown artifact that mysteriously ends up in the apartment of the protagonist Skif and makes a huge hole in his house. Since the protagonist in The Heart of Chernobyl is a brave and resourceful guy, he decides to find out where the artifact came from and why it is under his bed. And where else can this be done but in the Zone? Armed with a special scanner and a scientist he knows, he sets off on his adventure.
The first mission is to get into a closed area and use the scanner to charge an artifact. To do this, you need to find a special place, avoid getting hit by a stray bullet, and survive the release of anomalous energy. You almost succeed when you are insidiously attacked by an unknown group of thieves. The Scythian loses consciousness, the scanner and the artifact, and miraculously doesn't turn into another corpse in the romantic but at the same time dangerous Zone. Again, what can the resourceful and determined protagonist do in this situation? That's right, deal with the problem and take the dangerous path of a stalker.
