Imagine Dragons' video about Sasha from Mykolaiv region nominated for MTV Awards
MTV has announced the nominees for this year's music video awards, including Imagine Dragons' "Crushed", which was filmed in Mykolaiv region, Ukraine.
The video will compete in the Video for Good category, which recognizes videos with a social message.
The video "Crushed" was filmed in the village of Novohryhorivka, which was under Russian occupation for five months and was seriously damaged. The video tells the story of 14-year-old Sashko, who lost his home to shelling.
During a humanitarian mission to Ukraine, the video's director Ty Arnold, who has been working with Imagine Dragons for a long time, met Sasha in Novohryhorivka. Through this video, Imagine Dragons, who became UNITED24 ambassadors last summer, called on their fans to help rebuild Sashko's house and support Ukraine as it confronts Russian military aggression. At the end of June, the reconstruction of Sashko's house and his family began.
The nominees for the Video for Good category include:
- Alicia Keys - "If I Ain't Got You (Orchestral)"
- Bad Bunny - "El Apagón - Aquí Vive Gente"
- Demi Lovato - "Swine"
- Dove Cameron - "Breakfast"
- Imagine Dragons - "Crushed"
- Maluma - "La Reina"
The peculiarity of this award is that the winners are chosen by the audience. Fans can vote on MTV's website, and there is a separate link for the Video for Good category, which can be found on MTV's website.
