Artists of the National Opera of Ukraine raised about $600 thousand during a charity tour in Canada
Artists of the National Opera of Ukraine impressed with their talent and raised an impressive amount of money - about $600,000 - during a tour in Canada called Nadiya Ukraine. According to the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, the funds raised were sponsorships and donations.
"In total, more than 30 thousand people attended 20 concerts of Ukrainian artists, and an incredible 600 thousand dollars were raised. These funds will be used to support non-profit organizations and foundations that are actively working in Ukraine," the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine said.
The organizers of the tour plan to make the National Opera's performances in Canada a regular occurrence - every two years. Their American partners are already actively developing a route for further tours in the United States. Preliminary plans already include two tours: the fall one, which will begin at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., and will cover the East Coast and central states, and the winter tour, which will cover the western United States.
As for the format of the performances, it is planned to keep them unique. However, the producers are considering inviting several soloists from the opera company and improving the scenography of the concerts with advanced 3D effects and video projections. Particular attention will be paid to the performances dedicated to the war in Ukraine and the folklore block.
The tour of the National Opera of Ukraine in Canada under the patronage of the Olena Zelenska Foundation has become an event that will not only bring glory to Ukrainian art, but also help those in need in their home country.
