Essential Job Functions:
- Dispenses medications.
- Provides authorized first aid to students
- Provides delegated health care tasks for students with chronic health problems
- Consults with higher level staff as needed when situations arise outside normal scope of responsibility
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience working with students
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Ability to communicate effectively with other employees, students, and the general public using tact, courtesy, and good judgment
- Use and understand English in both written and verbal form
- Ability to work accurately and with good attention to detail
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and demonstrate competencies
- Flexibility and patience to work with students with a variety of needs
- Ability to use good judgment in identifying, handling, protecting, and disseminating confidential student information
- Current First Aid/CPR certification
Ability to successfully complete training for:
- Bloodborne Pathogens
- Medication Administration (ORS 339.867-870)
- Emergency Glucagon Providers (ORS 433.800-830)
- Treatment of Severe Allergic Reaction (ORS 433.800-830)
- ORS 433.800-830 requires individuals trained to respond to severe allergic reactions and to administer emergency glucagons be at least 21 years of age
- Bilingual/Bicultural Preferred
